A sensory-friendly family storytime at Blessington Library

Blessington Library

Once upon a time, there was a girl who loved to tell stories. Fairytales, folktales, tales of Princesses, and Wolves, and Dragons. This girl, whose name is Emily, would like to invite you to an evening of storytelling. Just because your feet can't travel far doesn't mean that your imaginations can't.

This is a 45 minute oral storytelling family show. Emily Collins is a storyteller with over a decade of experience and a repertoire drawn from traditional Irish legends and folktales, and European fairytales. She is the founder of storytelling and shadow puppet group Tales From The Shadows, and has performed at the National Gallery of Ireland, as part of the International Literature Festival Dublin, the Monkstown International Puppet Festival, and the Vault Festival London.

This is a family-friendly, relaxed show aimed at those 7-10 years old. Runtime 45 minutes, plus short Q and A after.

Booking is available by contacting Blessington Library at blessingtonlib@wicklowcoco.ie or calling 045 891 740.

Culture Night at Ballyroan Library

https://culturenight.ie/event/ballyroan-library-muhibbah-an-exhibition-by-ariyana-ahmad/

Ballyroan Library is delighted to present this show by Tales from the Shadows, based on a Malaysian fairy tale. Tales from the Shadows are a Dublin-based theatre group whose short pieces are often marked by spookiness and morbidity. This group of young women transport their audience into a world of fantasy, including heroes, villains, adventures, and magic. Their past performances include the Bram Stoker Festival and the National Gallery of Ireland. The show is suitable for a person of any age, as long as they are open to letting the magic of storytelling work on them. Each show will last ten minutes – families are advised that it is essential to book their place.
